SHG Sivrihisar Airshows

Sivrihisar General Aviation Center (S.U.S.H.M.), Necati Artan Facilities hosted an amazing international Air Show on the weekend of 16-17 September 2017. On 16 September 2017, Saturday, the show began with the opening speech of the Governor of Eskişehir, Özdemir Çakacak. Among the guests were the Vice Chairman of The Justice and Development Party (AK Party), Harun Karacan, The Ambassador of Tokyo, Murat Mercan, The Turkish Air Force Former Commander General, Abidin Ünal, The General Manager of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Bahri Kesici and The President of the Turkish Aeronautical Association, Kürşat Atılgan.

Sivrihisar Air Show, 2017, welcomed over 20.000 visitors mainly from Ankara, Eskişehir, İstanbul, İzmir and Bursa and delighted its spectators with the magnificent performances by professional pilots. Turkey's National Aerobatic Pilot Ali İsmet Öztürk, Turkey's First Aerobatic Woman Pilot Semin Öztürk, Aerobatic Pilot Tim Tibo from Germany, Georgina Hunter Jones and Bob Pooler from the UK have all impressed the visitors.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) took place at the Air Show with their manufactured T129 ATAK Helicopter and Hürkuş Training Aircraft. Turkey's oldest aircraft Boeing - Stearman, Turkish Aeronautical Association Glider and Paramotor Group, King Air, Ultralight and Gyrocopter shows and parachute jumps enhanced the liveliness of the event. Two professional R/C women helicopter pilots from Germany, Simone Zunterer and Daniela Frank, were at the show with their great performances.

Countries like the USA, Italy, UK and Germany participated to showcase their productions in sportive aviation. Hence, Sivrihisar Air Show was not only a programmed 'show' but also a 'fair' in aviation. Sponsored by TAI, ETİ and Golf Ice-cream, the Air Show brought together nearly 70 companies, flight schools, universities and firms to present their activities.

The children's playground at the Show kept the little ones playing while the flight simulators attracted many young visitors. The year 2017 also continued the tradition of the Air Show by adding the ''Bicycle Race at the Runway'' and the ''Aerial Photography Competition'' to the programme.
